the Naledi3d Factory: an African ICT Achievers Awards Finalist

The African ICT Achievers Awards, affectionately known as the "Oscars" of the ICT Sector, continues to grow year on year and was launched to stimulate the growth of the ICT sector in South Africa and is supported by the Department of Communications, Microsoft, MTN and a range of other sponsors.

In recognition of the Naledi3d Factory's highly innovative work, we are proud of being named one of just THREE finalists in the 2005 African ICT Achievers Awards in the category "Most innovative ICT company in Africa"…

Sponsored by the likes of MTN, Ericsson, etc., the ICT Achievers Awards are the most prestigious in the ICT sector and so we're very proud of this achievement and the learning tool that can revolutionise education and training across Africa.

We see this nomination as a vindication of our unwavering commitment to our approach and its potential impact.

Although we narrowly missed winning the award (Sentech duly walked away with the honours) it is clear that the ICT community is starting to recognise that VR represents much more than so-called "techies" wearing tactile gloves and head-mounted displays, that the technology has come of age and can now be used on desktop PC's in many places including rural community centres and the like.
